Frueh am Dom in Cologne

Typical Cologne food and drinks.

A truly great meal in a great place. Baked ham sour kraut and mashed potatoes were all done perfectly. Simple ingredients prepared perfectly. The servers were cold distant but got the orders correct brought the meal out and kept the beer full. The best part was they didn't insert themselves into our meal.

The environment is cool, nice staff, good food, prices are ok.

In a very central and touristy area- but the food is quality. The cellar was not open on the Monday night we went (likely because of COVID) but we were taken care of by a wonderfully attentive and jovial waiter in the main room. I definitely recommend starting with the potato soup!

Terrible attitude from the waiters, really rude, shouting at us from the beginning, ignoring us, one of the waiters pushed me to pass first. Never experienced such a thing before we opted to leave the place and didn't bother to order.

What an awesome place to discover german culture! With excellent food and even better beer, Fruh am Dom exceeded all of my expectations!

The beer is great but unfortunately the service is terrible. Perhaps we were just unlucky but we had the most unfriendly, rude and miserable waiter I've ever had anywhere. Will definitely not return when there are so many nicer places in town.

Probably the best place in town to enjoy the traditional Kölsch beer while having a good old fashioned meal.

It is the most classical traditional beer place near the Dom. Every time I have been there it is always the same. Good food and good beer in a traditional building. The waiters are efficient but not very friendly. When they get a tip at the end, they start smiling more.

Really great place with local german food. We ordered some goulash and sausage. The portions are really big. We paid 29 euros for two people which is very good price in our opinion

Great and beautiful place with quality and authentic food. The problem, as in many places it is once again the staff. Unfriendly hostess...which it should never be. And careless waiter, focus only of bringing you more beer even when you didn't order it. I asked for salt and the waiter told me that it wasn't his table, then I went to get it myself...

We just sit down and the waiter asked what we want to drink, when we asked for a moment he said its a bar you should drink beer. (We were with a little baby) Waiter was in big stress and hurry, spilled some beer on my friend trousers.For the end I had to wait 20 min for hering and they were awful. I dont recommend this place.

Perfect place in the middle of Köln to eat with friends some tipically food at good price, also debit or credit cards are not accepted but you can withdraw money in an ATM at -1 floor that they have (take care with commision). For the other things was perfect!

Excellent service, excellent venue, excellent atmosphere. Generally excellent! Had a fantastic afternoon there. Probably there too long but still managed to catch the train...??

Probably the best beer there is. Very delicious food. Usually very crowded and it sometimes gets really hard to find a table. Staff is friendly. I visit everytime i go to Köln.

Traditional restaurant with typical German food and drinks. The dishes are great, a little expensive for the central location (next to the Cologne Cathedral), but worth the experience. I ate an Eisbein baked with potatoes accompanied by a cold beer typical of the Cologne region (Kölsch). The funny thing is that as long as you don't cover your glass with the "cookie" the waiters will always bring you beer.

This is the real local beer hall. Great food & drink and old world atmosphere. Loved the dark wood paneling & the really efficient service. The food was really delicious and reasonable.

Very friendly wait staff, delicious food and Kölsch style beer. Close to the station and the Cathedral.

We saw a rat running arouns the place and in between the tables, told the staff about it and they just laughed it off and didnt do anything about it. Speaks loudly about the cleanliness of this place.

I was having a beer with a friend of mine and we saw a mouse running freely around us. Warned the staff about it and they just laugh at us and did absolutelt nothing. Think twice before coming here...

We really enjoyed our dinner here. Great food (had the cripsy pork knuckle) and Kölsch at a good price. Friendly service too. Note that the table booking site (Open Table) doesn't seem to work for under 4 people (we had 2)

Beer and food great, the portions were fine. However the service for me was low quality. He didn't really speak English which caused very difficult communication and many misunderstood. Also everything went really slow. Clearly expected more for the prices.

EXTRAORDINARY!!!!! The waiters it was incredible, but one of them: Mister ARSLAN ("The Green Card Man" kkk), was the best I have ever known in all my life!!! Very, very funny, friendly! He introduced us to the whole place (A huge place). He played a lot, spoke several languages, from Russian, Turkish, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, etc ... He played with my kids, with me and my wife. Telled us a lot of good historys. Früm am Domn has a lot of chambers and underground environments, has a real well and even a mini church inside. I never had saw a place like that before. We had a lot of fun and for sure whenever I will came back to Colonia I will visit Früm am Dom again and looking for Arslan. Discovering this place and meeting Arslan has already made the trip worthwhile. Great moment of the trip. Thank you Arslan !!!
